How to deal with the most prominent car malfunctions while driving

Our daily lives are not devoid of periodic car breakdowns that the driver may encounter, which increase in frequency when repeatedly disregarding the timely maintenance of various parts of the car. So what should be done when a malfunction occurs?
1- When the car breaks down while driving:
If the speed is less than 35 km/h, move the gear stick or gearbox to the N position and start the car again.
- In the event that the car has a regular or manual gear stick and the speed is higher than 35 km / h, it is better to move the gear stick to the second position level and gradually raise the gearshift pedal to start the movement.
- If the transmission is automatic, put it, dear driver, in the N neutral position, and be careful not to put the selector stick in the P position while the car is moving, because you will eliminate the transmission and lead to damage to it.
2 – If the accelerator pedal fails
When a fuel pump malfunction occurs from the accelerator pedal:
The ignition key must be moved immediately to stop the car engine, and the key must be avoided in the off position, which locks the steering wheel and leads to loss of control over driving the car.
It is best to avoid trying to fix the throttle as long as the car is in motion.
- Trying to make every effort available to resist the force resulting from the new situation that the car’s movement has reached.
The quickest idea is to put the gear stick in N, then apply the brakes to steer the car off the main road at the first safe opportunity to bring it to a soft stop.
3 – brake failure
When the driver fails to stop the vehicle using the brakes:
The brake pedal can be depressed several times in succession with the secondary or manual brake applied and the gearshift stick shifted to a lower gear position. All this with the aim of reducing the speed of the vehicle until it stops completely.
- Warning other drivers by using side lights in cars and honking.
Excessive pressure on the brake pedal to help try to steer the vehicle well to the side of the road outside the general traffic lane to stop it.
